The funny thing about diets that restrict what you eat rather than just the amount of it you can eat is that they leave me craving things which I don't even like - such as tortilla chips and yoo hoo. Yoo Hoo is about the consistency of motor oil and I can't drink it without scrunching my nose. Yet, I'd kill for one right now. None of this would be a problem if I were just allowed some cereal. Right now heaven would be to curl up in bed with some tortilla chips and spicy ranch salsa.
Fueling my unhealthy obsession was Audrey raving about the Jebelsoup which I tried a couple of weeks ago and it is SO yummy. To preserve the recipe for myself I'm going to post it in the extended entry here. It is the recipe that made me buy a crockpot.
Tortilla Soup for the crock pot
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
4 tsp. chopped cilantro
1 tbsp. margarine
30 oz. chicken stock
1 small can tomato sauce
1/2 pkg. taco seasoning
1 can Mexican style stewed tomatoes
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
salt and pepper to taste
2 handfuls tortilla chipsPlace all ingredients in a crock pot. Cook on LOW all day. Shred chicken before serving and garnish with additional tortilla chips and 1/2 c. shredded cheese if desired. Serves 6 to 8.

I LOVE that soup and am, in fact, making it again tomorrow night. If you add some lime juice and a chopped green pepper, it is EVEN BETTER.
I actually did use lime juice (and lime tortilla chips for that matter) based on your suggestion and I thought it was great. Next time I will definitely have to add some green pepper as well!
